Working Hard But NO ONE Notices? Discover 3 Key Strategies!

Working Hard But NO ONE Notices?

Hey, it’s Caroline, your career coach and mentor.

Today, I want to talk about the fact that some of us work really hard in the hope that our manager or boss notices but the reality is, they don’t.

We stress ourselves out and go above and beyond to deliver the best possible results for the project that’s assigned to us.

We over deliver and hope that the hard work will talk for itself.

But often, we only end up burning out and stressing ourselves.

And the worst thing we can do is take it home and let it affect our health and well-being.

I’ve seen it over and over again.

Especially with high performers and unfortunately,  what they get in return does not equate their efforts.

If this resonates with you, then there are three things that I want you to do today in order to protect yourself and enable you to move forward.

1. Stop.

Stop, zoom out and look at the bigger picture.

Think if what you’re doing now is what you want to do long-term.

Does it fit into your bigger picture?

Is it sustainable?

We usually think that after completing a project, things will change but it never does.

If what you’re doing right now doesn’t fit in, what are you going to do about it?

Take action today to change what the future will be like for you.

Always remember that you’re in control.

2. Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is going to happen if you don’t put in these crazy hours of work?
  • What’s the result going to look like?
  • What’s the worst case scenario?
  • How can you scale it back?

Sometimes, we are our own worst enemy.

As high achievers and performers, we always want to deliver the best.

We tend to strive for perfection although at times, okay is good enough.

I challenge you to think about what’s the worst thing that could happen.

Is it just you that put in all that unnecessary pressure or is it coming from external sources?

Identify where the pressure is coming from and re-frame it.

3. Set boundaries for yourself.

What aspects of the project can you delegate to others?

What boundaries can you set to get the results that are required for the project without burning yourself out?

Remember that nobody benefits if you burn yourself out.

If this video inspired you, there are some things I want you to do.
